Thomas Newman has composed the main titles theme for the new Hulu original series Castle Rock. The composer has also contributed the score for the first two episodes of the show, which is developed by Sam Shaw & Dustin Thomason (Manhattan) and stars André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy and Scott Glenn. Chris Westlake (Before We Go, Small Town Crime) is the composer of the other eight episodes of the show’s first season. The psychological horror drama is set in the Stephen King multiverse and takes place in the fictional Maine town of Castle Rock, which has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption. Shaw and Thomason are also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television and Bad Robot production with J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Trek), Ben Stephenson (Westworld) and Liz Glotzer (Bernie, The Mist). Newman has previously scored the Stephen King feature adaptations of The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. Castle Rock will premiere on July 25, 2018 on Hulu.
