H. Scott Salinas and Reza Safinia have been hired to score the upcoming Cinemax original series Warrior. The show is created by Jonathan Tropper (Banshee) and stars Andrew Koji, Olivia Cheng, Jason Tobin, Kieran Bew, Dean Jagger, Joanna Vanderham, Tom Weston-Jones, Hoon Lee, Joe Taslim, Langley Kirkwood, Christian McKay and Perry Yung. The drama inspired by the writings and work of martial arts icon Bruce Lee is set against the backdrop of the Tong Wars in the late 1800s and follows a martial arts prodigy originating in China who moves to San Francisco and ends up becoming a hatchet man for the most powerful tong in Chinatown. Topper is also executive producing the project with Justin Lin (Fast & Furious, Star Trek: Beyond) & Danielle Woodrow (Scorpion, S.W.A.T.) the project for Perfect Storm Entertainment, alongside Shannon Lee for Bruce Lee Entertainment. Salinas & Safinia have previously co-scored the Bruce Lee biopic Birth of the Dragon. Warrior is expected to premiere later this year or in early 2019 on Cinemax.
