Composer Stephen Rennicks is reuniting with director Lenny Abrahamson on the upcoming supernatural horror thriller The Little Stranger. The film starring Domhnall Gleeson, Ruth Wilson, Will Poulter and Charlotte Rampling is based on Sarah Waters’ 2009 novel of the same title and takes place in post-WWII Britain, where a doctor revisits a crumbling great house where his mother once worked as a nurse maid and becomes obsessed with marrying one of the owner’s daughters. Lucinda Coxon (The Danish Girl, Wild Target) wrote the screenplay. Gail Egan (A Most Wanted Man), Andrea Calderwood (The Last King of Scotland), Ed Guiney (The Lobster, The Guard) are producing the project. Rennicks has previously scored all of Abrahamson’s previous features, including Garage, What Richard Did, Frank and Room. The Little Stranger is set to be released in theaters on August 31, 2018 by Focus Features.
