Philippe Sarde has been chosen as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s World Soundtrack Awards at the Film Fest Gent. The Brussels Philharmonic will perform his music at the 18th World Soundtrack Awards, which will take place on October 17, 2018. Throughout his career, Sarde has collaborated with directors such as Claude Sautet, Bertrand Tavernier, Roman Polanski, André Téchiné and Jean-Jacques Annaud on films including The Tenant, Tess, Thieves, Nelly & Monsieur Arnaud and Pirates. The French composer most recently composed the music for Jacques Doillon’s Rodin, which is opening in select U.S. theaters this coming weekend. The World Soundtrack Award concert will also feature the world premiere of Carter Burwell’s film scores and music composer Nicholas Britell (Moonlight).
