Craig Wedren is reteaming with Ken Marino on the upcoming comedy drama Dog Days. The film marks Marino’s second movie as a director and stars Nina Dobrev, Vanessa Hudgens, Jon Bass, Finn Wolfhard, Tone Bell, Adam Pally, Eva Longoria, Tig Notaro, Rob Corddry, Michael Cassidy, Jasmine & Ron Cephas Jones, John Gemberling, Ryan Hansen, Thomas Lennon, Lauren Lapkus, Jessica Lowe, Toks Olagundoye, Jessica St. Clair and David Wain. The movie follows a group of interconnected people in Los Angeles who are brought together by their loveable canine counterparts. Elissa Matsueda (The Miracle Season) has written the screenplay, with revisions by Erica Oyama. Mickey Liddell (Jackie, The Grey, Go), Pete Shilaimon (Risen) and Jennifer Monroe (Megan Leavey) are producing the LD Entertainment production. Wedren has previously scored Marino’s feature directorial debut, How to Be a Latin Lover. Dog Days is set to be released in theaters on August 10, 2018.
Wedren (Role Models, School of Rock, Wanderlust, Wet Hot American Summer) also continues to score ABC’s Fresh Off the Beat, which currently airs in it fourth season every Tuesday night, as well as Netflix’s Glow, which will return for its second season later this year.
