EuropaCorp will release a soundtrack album for the French boxing drama Sparring. The album features the film’s original music composed by Olivia Merilahti of the French indie rock band The Dø. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, January 26 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Sparring is co-written and directed by Samuel Jouy and stars Mathieu Kassovitz, Olivia Merilahti, Malik Bine, Zakariya Gouram, Jolente De Keersmaeker, Souleymane M’Bay and Billie Blain. The movie follows a washed-up small-time boxer at the end of his career who accepts an offer than many would turn down flat: being the sparring partner to emerging champion. The drama will premiered at last year’s Locarno Film Festival and will be released in French theaters on January 31. No word yet on a domestic release.
