Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie, 21/22 Jump Street, The Royal Tenenbaums) is composing the music for the upcoming IMAX documentary Pandas. The film is directed by David Douglas & Drew Fellman and follows a researcher at Chengdu Panda Base in China who is dedicated to protecting the species by breeding adult Giant Pandas in order to introduce cubs into the wild and whose passion leads her to initiate a new technique inspired by a black bear program in rural New Hampshire. Fellman is also producing the project with Donald Kushner (TRON, Monster, The Brave Little Toaster) and Steve Ransoho. Mothersbaugh has previously collaborated with the directors on the documentaries, Born to Be Wild and Island of Lemurs: Madagascar. Pandas will be released in select IMAX theaters on April 6, 2018 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
