David Lang has recently composed the music for the upcoming drama Wildlife. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Paul Dano and stars Carey Mulligan, Ed Oxenbould, Bill Camp and Jake Gyllenhaal. The movie based on the novel of the same title by Richard Ford is set in 1960 Montana and revolves around a boy who witnesses his parent’s marriage falling apart after his mom finds another man. Dano also co-wrote the screenplay with Zoe Kazan. Gyllenhaal is also producing the project with Andrew Duncan & Alex Saks (The Florida Project), Oren Moverman (The Messenger, Rampart), Ann Ruark (The Beaver) and Riva Marker (Beasts of No Nation, Hello, My Name Is Doris). Lang’s previous scoring credits include Paolo Sorrentino’s 2015 feature Youth, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for the original song Simple Song #3. Wildlife will premiere next month in competition at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
