A soundtrack album will be released for Isabel Coixet’s drama The Bookshop. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alfonso de Vilallonga (Snow White, Transsiberian) who previously scored the director’s My Life Without Me. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, November 10, and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Bookshop is written and directed by Coixet (The Secret Life of Words, Elegy) and stars Emily Mortimer, Bill Nighy and Patricia Clarkson. The movie based on Penelope Fitzgerald’s novel is set in England in 1959 in a small East Anglian town and follows a woman who decides, against polite but ruthless local opposition, to open a bookshop. The drama is being released this weekend in Spanish theaters and will be opening in other European markets over the next few months. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
