Nate Heller is reteaming with director Marielle Heller to score the upcoming comedy Can You Ever Forgive Me?. The film starring Melissa McCarthy, Richard E. Grant, Jane Curtin, Dolly Wells, Anna Deavere Smith and Jennifer Westfeldt is based on Lee Israel’s memoir of the same title and revolves around the journalist who had fallen on hard times in the early 90s and began selling letters that she had forged from deceased writers and actors. Nicole Holofcener (Enough Said, Friends with Money) wrote the screenplay. Anne Carey (Mr. Holmes, Adventureland, The American) and Amy Nauiokas (10’000 Saints) are producing the project with David Yarnell. Nate Heller has previously scored Marielle Heller’s directorial debut, The Diary of a Teenage Girl. Can You Ever Forgive Me? is expected to premiere in 2018 and will be distributed in the U.S. by Fox Searchlight.
