John Carpenter confirmed in a recent interview with Billboard the he has closed a deal to score the upcoming horror sequel Halloween. David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, All the Real Girls, Stronger) is set to direct the movie, which will star Jamie Lee Curtis who will reprise her role as Laurie Strode. Judy Greer in talks to play her daughter, Karen Strode. Green also co-wrote the screenplay with Danny McBride. Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, Paranormal Activity, Insidious) is producing the project through his Blumhouse company, alongside Malek Akkad who previously produced Rob Zombie’s Halloween and its sequel. Carpenter also serves as an executive producer. He has previously composed the music for his 1978 original movie, and also co-scored the first two sequels in the series with Alan Howarth. Halloween is set to be released on October 19, 2018 by Universal Pictures.
