Fox Music has released a score album for the documentary Step. The album features the film’s original music composed by Laura Karpman (Paris Can Wait, Black Nativity) and Raphael Saadiq (Underground, Insecure). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. As previously reported, Columbia Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring songs from and inspired by the film, including the original song Jump co-written by Karpman & Saadiq, as well Taura Stinson. Step is directed by Amanda Lipitz and documents the senior year of a girls’ high-school step dance team against the background of inner-city Baltimore. The documentary was released in select cities last weekend by Fox Searchlight and will expand to more markets over the next couple of weeks. Visit the official movie website for more information about the film.
