Armory Films announced today that T Bone Burnett will be producing the soundtrack for the upcoming drama The Peanut Butter Falcon. The film is written and directed by Tyler Nilson & Michael Schwartz (The Moped Diaries) and stars Shia LaBeouf, Dakota Johnson, Zachary Gottsagen and Bruce Dern. The movie follows a down on his luck crab fisherman as he embarks on a journey to get a young man with Down syndrome to a professional wresting school in rural North Carolina and away from the retirement home where he’s lived most of his life. Burnett is also producing the movie with Tim Zajaros & Christopher Lemole, Albert Berger & Ron Yerxa (Little Miss Sunshine, Nebraska), Lije Sarki and David Thies. He previously worked on the soundtrack for the Berger- & Yerxa-produced 2003 feature Cold Mountain, for which he received an Academy Award and Grammy Award nomination. The Peanut Butter Falcon will start shooting later this week. A release in 2018 is expected.
