Alexandre Desplat is reteaming with George Clooney on the upcoming crime comedy Suburbicon. The film directed by Clooney and stars Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, Josh Brolin, Oscar Isaac, Noah Jupe and Glenn Fleshler. The movie centers on a father who hatches a plan to kill his wife in order to be with the woman’s sister, with whom he’s having an affair. Joel and Ethan Coen (No Country for Old Men, Fargo) wrote the screenplay. Clooney is also producing the project with Joel Silver (The Matrix, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon), Grant Heslov (Argo, August: Osage County) and Teddy Schwarzman (The Imitation Game, Gold). Desplat has previously collaborated with Clooney on his last two directorial efforts, The Ides of March and The Monuments Men. Suburbicon is currently in post-production and is expected to be released later this year by Paramount Pictures.
Desplat has recently recorded his score for Luc Besson’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. His other upcoming projects also include Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water.
