David Holmes is reteaming with director Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Erin Brockovich) on the upcoming comedy Logan Lucky. The film stars Daniel Craig, Channing Tatum, Hilary Swank, Katherine Heigl, Adam Driver, Sebastian Stan, Riley Keough, Katherine Waterston, Katie Holmes, David Denman, Jack Quaid and Seth MacFarlane. The movie follows two brothers as they set out to perform an elaborate robbery during a widely watched NASCAR race. Rebecca Blunt wrote the screenplay and Reid Carolin & Gregory Jacobs (Magic Mike, The Knick, Edge of Tomorrow) and Mark Johnson (Rain Man, The Chronicles of Narnia, Breaking Bad) are producing the project. Holmes and Soderbergh have previously collaborated on the Ocean’s trilogy, Out of Sight and Haywire. Logan Lucky will be released in theaters on August 18, 2017 by Bleecker Street.
Holmes is also scoring Soderbergh’s upcoming HBO mini-series Mosaic starring Sharon Stone and Garret Hedlund. No plot details have been announced yet, but the show is supposed to feature interactive elements, where the audience can determine the outcome of the story. Ed Solomon (Men in Black, Charlie’s Angels) wrote the script and Soderbergh is also executive producing the project with Casey Silver (Hidalgo, The Forbidden Kingdom). No word yet on a premiere date.
