David Buckley has been hired to score the upcoming CBS drama The Good Fight. The show is created by Robert & Michelle King and stars Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, Rose Leslie, Delroy Lindo, Sarah Steele, Justin Bartha, Erica Tazel, Paul Guilfoyle and Bernadette Peters. The drama is a spin-off to the network’s series The Good Wife and picks up one year after the events of the show’s final episode. The Kings are also executive producing the project with Phil Alden Robinson (Field of Dreams) who co-wrote the premiere, as well as Ridley Scott & David Zucker (The Man in the High Castle, The Pillars of the Earth), Liz Glotzer (Friends with Benefits, The Mist), Brooke Kennedy and Alison Cross. Buckley has previously scored all episodes of The Good Wife since the middle of the first season. The Good Fight is set to premiere on February 19, 2017 on CBS. Buckley (Jason Bourne, The Nice Guys, The Forbidden Kingdom) also returns to score the second season of PBS’ Mercy Street, which premieres this Sunday, January 22. The composer’s upcoming feature projects include the indie comedy The Boy Downstairs written and directed by Sophie Brooks. The movie starring Zosia Mamet and Deirdre O’Connell follows a woman who moves back to New York City after a failed experiment of life in Europe and inadvertently moves into her ex-boyfriend’s apartment building, quickly reopening old wounds. David Brooks & Dan Clifton and Leon Clarance (Sense8) are producing the film, which is expected to premiere later this year.
