Clint Mansell is composing the music for the upcoming documentary The New Radical. The film is directed by Adam Bhala Lough (Bomb the System) and centers on a group of uncompromising millennial radicals from the United States and the United Kingdom who attack the system through dangerous technological means, which evolves into a high-stakes game with world authorities in the midst of a dramatically changing political landscape. Lucy Sumner (Hesher), Alex Needles and Brent Stiefel (Grassroots, Free in Deed, As You Are) are producing the project. The New Radical will premiere in competition next month at the Sundance Film Festival.
Mansell’s other upcoming projects include Rupert Sanders’ Ghost in the Shell, Duncan Jones’ Mute and the animated feature Loving Vincent.
I was disappointed to hear that Mansell wouldn’t be scoring Darren Aronofsky’s next movie, but it looks like we’ll still have plenty of his music to look forward to in 2017.
