Nicholas Britell is currently scoring the upcoming drama Battle of the Sexes. The film is directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (Little Miss Sunshine, Ruby Sparks) and stars Emma Stone, Steve Carell, Elisabeth Shue, Andrea Riseborough, Austin Stowell, Alan Cumming, Sarah Silverman and Bill Pullman. The movie tells the true story of the competition between tennis pros Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in 1973 when the No. 2 ranked King beat the 55-year-old retired former Wimbledon champion Riggs. Simon Beaufoy (The Full Monty, 127 Hours) wrote the screenplay. Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting, Steve Jobs) is producing the project with Christian Colson (Selma, 127 Hours). Battle of the Sexes will be released next year by Fox Searchlight.
Britell’s whose most recent project, Moonlight, is currently playing in select theaters, also has the comedy Ocean’s 8 starring Sandra Bullock & Cate Blanchett coming up.
