Quartet Records will release a soundtrack album for Xavier Dolan’s drama It’s Only the End of the World (Juste la fin du monde). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, 1408, Cold Mountain) who previously scored the director’s previous film Tom at the Farm. Also included are the songs featured in the movie by Camille, Blink-182, Grimes, Exotica and Moby. The physical version will be released later this week and is now available for pre-order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples. A digital version will be released later this year and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. It’s Only the End of the World is written and directed by Dolan and stars Marion Cotillard, Lea Seydoux, Vincent Cassel, Nathalie Baye and Gaspard Ulliel. The movie is based on a play by Jean-Luc Lagarce of the same title and follows a terminally ill writer who returns home after a long absence to tell his family that he is dying. The drama premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and will be released in France on September 21 followed by other European markets. No domestic distribution deal has been announced yet.
