hidden-figuresHans Zimmer has joined Pharrell Williams to score the upcoming drama Hidden Figures. The film is directed by Theodore Melfi (St. Vincent) and stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monáe, Kirsten Dunst, Jim Parsons, Mahershala Ali, Aldis Hodge, Glen Powell and Kevin Costner. The movie tells the true story of a group of brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. Melfi has written the screenplay with Allison Schroeder based on the book by Margot Lee Shetterly. As previously announced, Williams has also written original songs for the drama. He is also producing the project with Melfi, Donna Gigliotti (Shakespeare in LoveSilver Linings Playbook), Peter Chernin (Rise of the Planet of the ApesOblivion) and Jenno Topping (SpyThe Heat). Hidden Figures is set to be released nationwide on January 13, 2017 by 20th Century Fox.         He’s been scoring since 2010, according to his IMDb page, with five film credits (not counting song videos and some kind of MTV special about him).

        Not saying it’s a good thing. A film like this needed a quality composer.
