Heitor Pereira will be returning to provide scoring duties on the upcoming animated sequel Despicable Me 3. The film is directed by Kyle Balda (Minion) & Pierre Coffin who helmed the first two installments in the series with Chris Renaud. Eric Guillon is co-directing the film, which is written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio (The Secret Life of Pets, The Lorax, Horton Hears a Who). Steve Carell returns as the voice of Gru, as well as the new character of Gru’s long lost identical twin Drew. Trey Parker has also joined the voice cast. Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy are producing the project for Illumination Entertainment. Pereira has previously scored the first two Despicable Me, as well as its spin-off Minions. Despicable Me 3 is set to be released on June 30, 2017 by Universal Pictures.
Pereira’s other upcoming projects also include the animated feature The Nut Job 2, as well as the fantasy adventure The King’s Daughter (previously entitled The Moon and the Sun).
