Alec Puro has signed on to score the upcoming indie comedy drama A Happening of Monumental Proportions. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actress Judy Greer and stars Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford, Katie Holmes, Anders Holm and Common. The movie takes place at a small school in Los Angeles and follows a group of students who find themselves caught up in a plot of sex, lies and dead bodies. Gary Lundy has written the screenplay. Chris & Paul Weitz (About a Boy, American Pie), Andrew Miano (A Single Man, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) and David Gardner are producing the project. A Happening of Monumental Proportions is currently in post-production. No word yet on a premiere date.
Puro’s upcoming projects also include the indie comedy The Runaround starring J.K. Simmons & Emile Hirsch. The composer also continues to score Freeform’s The Fosters, which will return for its fourth season on June 20.
