David Buckley has been tapped to score the upcoming CBS drama BrainDead. The show is created by Robert & Michelle King and stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aaron Tveit, Danny Pino, Nikki M. James and Tony Shalhoub. The series follows a fresh-faced Hill staffer whose first job in D.C. leads her to discover two things: The government has stopped working, and alien spawn have come to Earth and eaten the brains of a growing number of congressmen and Hill staffers. Robert and Michelle King are also executive producing the CBS Television Studios production with Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker (The Man in the High Castle, Numb3rs) and Brooke Kennedy (Pushing Daisies, Third Watch). Buckley has previously collaborated with the producers on CBS’ The Good Wife, which he has been scoring since the second half of the first season. BrainDead is set to premiere this summer on CBS.
Buckley has also recently co-scored Louis Leterrier’s comedy The Brothers Grimsby, which will be released nationwide tomorrow. The composer’s upcoming projects also include the comedy The Nice Guys, which he co-scored with John Ottman. He also expected to return to score the second season of PBS’ Mercy Street.
