Premiering tomorrow, February 8, is the HBO documentary Homegrown: The Counter-Terror Dilemma directed by Greg Barker based on the book United States of Jihad: Investigating America’s Homegrown Terrorists. The film’s original score is composed by electronic musician and percussionist Ricardo Donoso. Homegrown is produced by Barker, John Battsek & Julie Goldman and offers an insider’s account from the perspectives of those who helped construct America’s counter-terrorism machine, as well as those who are its targets. Missing from last week’s weekly TV music roundup was the Lifetime original movie Manson’s Lost Girls directed by Leslie Libman, executive produced by Steven Michaels and Jonathan Koch (The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe) & Nancy Bennett (The Red Tent) and starring MacKenzie Mauzy, Eden Brolin, Greer Grammer, Christian Madsen and Jeff Ward. Danny Lux (Grey’s Anatomy, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal) has composed the film’s original score. Manson’s Lost Girls centers on the circle of teenaged girls who fell under the spell of Charles Manson and helped carry out brutal killings meant to start an apocalyptic race war.
