Edward Shearmur has been hired to compose the music for the upcoming BBC original movie Reg. The film is directed by David Blair (Common, Best Laid Plans, The Street), written by Jimmy McGovern (Banished, Accused) and stars Tim Roth and Anna Maxwell Martin. The drama tells the true story of Reg Keys who lost his son in the Iraq War and then went on to contest British prime minister Tony Blair’s seat at Sedgefield in the 2005 General Election. Polly Hill (The Honorable Woman, Wolf Hall, The White Queen) is executive producing the project for BBC, alongside McGovern for LA Productions. Reg is expected to premiere in the UK next year on BBC One.
Shearmur also continues to score Lifetime’s Devious Maids. The composer also has the BBC mini-series The Outcast, as well as the Blumhouse thriller Curve starring Julianne Hough coming up.
