Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the drama Burnt directed by John Wells and starring Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Omar Sy, Daniel Brühl, Matthew Rhys, Uma Thurman, Emma Thompson, Alicia Vikander and Lily James. The film’s original music is composed by Rob Simonsen ((500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now, The Age of Adaline, Foxcatcher). No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie follows a chef in Paris who is trying to obtain the Michelin three-star rating. The drama is being released by the Weinstein Company. Visit the official movie website for more information.
Also opening wide is the political comedy drama Our Brand Is Crisis directed by David Gordon Green and starring Sandra Bullock, Billy Bob Thornton, Anthony Mackie, Joaquim de Almeida, Ann Dowd, Scoot McNairy and Zoe Kazan. David Wingo (Take Shelter, Mud, All the Real Girls) has composed the film’s original music. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last week. Opening in around 1500 theaters is the horror comedy Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse directed by Christopher Landon and starring Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller, Joseph Morgan, Sarah Dumont, Robert Koechner, Halston Sage, Cloris Leachman, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Blake Anderson. The film’s original music is composed by Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kick-Ass 2, Skyline). Paramount Pictures has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Opening in limited release is the horror comedy Freaks of Nature directed by Robbie Pickering and starring Nicholas Braun, Mackenzie Davis, Josh Fadem, Joan Cusack, Bob Odenkirk, Keegan-Michael Key, Ed Westwick, Vanessa Hudgens, Denis Leary and Patton Oswalt. Fil Eisler (Empire, Revenge, Shameless, UnREAL) has composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release. Freaks of Nature folows a pair of teen who form an unlikely alliance with vampires and zombies in order to take on an alien arm. Also opening in limited release is the indie drama Bare written and directed by Natalia Leite and starring Dianna Agron, Paz de la Huerta and Chris Zylka. The film’s original music composed by Kyp Malone. No soundtrack album has been announced. Bare follows an innocent young girl in a small Nevada town who falls in love with a female drifter who leads her into a life of stripping, drugs, and psychedelic spiritual experiences. The drama premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival and is being released by IFC Films. Visit the official movie website for more information.
