Quartet Records has announced the world premiere release of the complete score for the 1979 horror thriller The Amityville Horror directed by Stuart Rosenberg and starring James Bronlin, Margot Kidder and Rod Steiger. The film’s original music is composed and conducted by Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible, Bullit, Enter the Dragon, Rush Hour). The soundtrack features the complete score from the MGM production in mono on one disc and the surviving stereo tracks, as well as a number of bonus tracks on the second disc. The limited edition CD is now available for pre-order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples.
The label has also announced a new soundtrack album for the 1993 animated/live-action fantasy movie Cool World directed by Ralph Bakshi and starring Kim Basinger, Gabriel Byrne and Brad Pitt. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, A River Runs Through It, 42, Miracle). The 2-CD set features the composer’s complete score for the Paramount Pictures production, including several bonus tracks on Disc 1, and additional music cues by John Dickson, as well as the content of the 1992 original soundtrack album on Disc 2.
