Eduardo Noya has been hired to score the upcoming period drama series Versailles. The show is created by Simon Mirren (Criminal Minds) & David Wolstencroft (The Escape Artist) and stars George Blagden, Alexander Vlahos, Dominique Blanc, Amira Casar, Tygh Runyan, Stuart Bowman, Noémie Schmidt, Evan Williams, Anna Brewster and Sarah Winter. The 10-parter is set in 1667 and follows Louis XIV as he evolves from a young King into an absolute monarch, a 17th century rock star with the mind of Machiavelli. Mirren and Wolstencroft are also executive producing the Canal Plus production with Claude Chelli and Anne Thomopoulos (Rome, Borgia). Jalil Lespert (Yves Saint Laurent) has directed the first two episodes. Versailles is set to premiere this fall in France on Canal Plus. BBC Two will air the English language series in the UK. No word yet on a domestic premiere.

I absolutely love it, just finished watching episode 9 and can’t wait for the 10th. This was a wonderfully written, acted and directed series, now all I have to do is sit and bite my nails waiting to see if it is renewed.

Theme tune to Versailles is by M83 and is called Outro. It’s on one of their albums
The best bit is very short though. I would like an extended version.
