Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama The Runner. The album features the film’s original music composed by The Newton Brothers (Oculus, Life of Crime, Detachment, Pawn Shop Chronicles). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 25, 2015. The Runner is directed by Austin Stark and stars Nicolas Cage, Sarah Paulson, Connie Nielsen, Wendell Pierce, Bryan Batt and Peter Fonda. The movie is set in the aftermath of the 2010 BP oil spill and follows an idealistic but flawed politician who is forced to confront his dysfunctional life after his career is destroyed in a sex scandal. The drama was released last month in select theaters and on VOD by Alchemy.
