Disney announced today that composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater will be composing new songs for the upcoming animated series Tangled based on the 2010 hit movie of the same title. Kevin Kliesch is set to compose the original score for the show, which will feature the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi who are reprising their roles of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. The series is set between the feature film and the 2012 short film Tangled Ever After and unfolds as Rapunzel acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona. The project is developed by Chris Sonnenburg (Enchanted) and Shane Prigmore. Menken and Slater received an Academy Award nomination for the song I See the Light for the Tangled feature. Kliesch served as the score producer and orchestrator on the movie and also scored the Tangled Ever After short. The Tangled TV series is set to premiere in 2017 on the Disney Channel.
