Rob Cairns has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming thriller The Forger. The movie is directed by Philip Martin and stars John Travolta, Christopher Plummer, Tye Sheridan, Jennifer Ehle, Anson Mount, Abigail Spencer and Marcus Thomas. The film follows an expert art forger who is released from prison so that he can spend time with his dying son when he reteams with his father to carry out one last big job for the syndicate. The screenplay is written by Richard D’Ovidio (The Call, Exit Wounds). Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt & Eugene Musso (You Kill Me) are producing the project with Rob Carliner (Crazy Heart, The Apostle). Cairns is best known for scoring TNT’s Dallas, as well as numerous reality shows such as The Bachelor. Stephen Warbeck has previously composed a score for The Forger, which was used in the version that premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival. Saban Films has picked up domestic distribution rights and will release the thriller in select theaters and on VOD on April 24, 2015 in cooperation with Lionsgate.
