Mark Isham is reteaming with director Gavin O’Connor to score the upcoming action thriller The Accountant. The film stars Ben Affleck, Anna Kenrick, J.K Simmons, Jon Bernthal, John Lithgow and Jeffrey Tambor. The movie centers on a mild-mannered accountant and math genius who moonlights as a lethal assassin. Bill Dubuque (The Judge) has written the Black List-honored screenplay. Electric City Entertainment’s Lynette Howell (The Place Beyond the Pines, Blue Valentine, Big Eyes) and Mark Williams (Flawless, Arena) are producing the project. Isham and O’Connor have previously collaborated on the features Miracle, Pride and Glory and Warrior.The Accountant is currently shooting and is expected to be released later this year or in 2016 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Isham’s upcoming feature projects also include Septembers of Shiraz starring Salma Hayek & Adrian Brody, Fallen and The Longest Ride. The composer has also scored the family movie The Great Gilly Hopkins. The film is directed by Stephen Herek (Mr. Holland’s Opus, 101 Dalmations, The Three Musketeers) and stars Sophie Nelisse, Glenn Close, Kathy Bates, Danny Glover, Julia Stiles and Octavia Spencer. The movie is based on Katherine Paterson’s young adult novel and follows a 12-year old girl who is moved from foster home to foster home and ends up in the home of Maime Trotter, the most unorthodox foster mom yet, when her life takes an unexpected turn. David Paterson (Bridge to Terabithia) has written the screenplay and is also producing the project with Williams Teitler (Jumanji, What Maisie Knew) and John Paterson. The Great Gilly Hopkins is expected to be released later this year by Picturehouse.
Iaham’s current TV projects include the new ABC drama American Crime created by John Ridley, which will premiere next month. The composer also continues to score the network’s Once Upon a Time.
