Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Chinese 3D fantasy adventure Zhong Kui: Snow Girl and the Dark Crystal. The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-nominated composer Javier Navarrete (Pan’s Labyrinth, Wrath of the Titans, Mirrors, Inkheart). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 3, 2015 and physically on April 7. To pre-order the CD, visit Amazon. Audio clips will be added to this article within the next week. Zhong Kui: Snow Girl and the Dark Crystal is directed by Tianyu Zhao (The Law of Attraction) and stars Chen Kun, Li Bingbing, Winston Chao, Bao Bei-er, Yang Zishan and Jike Junyi. The movie is based on the mythological figure Zhong Kui, a young man endowed with mysterious powers and keeping order in the afterlife. The film is being released in China today. Well Go USA has picked up domestic distribution rights and will release the movie in select theaters on February 27.
