Community Music will release a soundtrack album for J.C. Chandor’s crime drama A Most Violent Year. The album features music from and inspired by the film composed by Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros who previously scored the director’s last feature All is Lost, including the avant garde original song America for Me. The soundtrack will be released on December 16, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. A Most Violent Year is written and directed by Chandor and stars Oscar Isaac, Jessica Chastain, Alessandro Nivola, David Oyelowo and Albert Brooks. The movie follows the lives of an immigrant family living in New York City and trying to expand their business and capitalize on opportunities amid violence, decay and corruption. The drama will be released in select theaters on December 31, 2014 by A24 Films before expanding nationwide in January of 2015.
