Andrew Hewitt has been hired to score the upcoming psychological thriller The Stanford Prison Experiment. The film is directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez (C.O.G.) and stars Billy Crudup, Ezra Miller, Olivia Thirlby, Nelsan Ellis, Ki Hong Lee, Tye Sheridan, Michael Angarano, Jack Kilmer and Nicholas Braun. The movie is based on the 1971 psychological exercise, for which randomly-chosen 19 and 20-year-old students were divided into camps of either prison guards or prisoners. Tim Talbott (Chicago Fire) has written the screenplay. Brent Emery is producing the project with Lizzie Friedman & Greg Little (Sex and Death 101), Karen Lauder (And Soon the Darkness), actor Brian Geraghty (The Hurt Locker) and Lauren Bratman (And While We Were Here). The Stanford Prison Experience is expected to premiere in 2015.
As previously reported, Hewitt whose previous scoring credits include The Double, Submarine, The Brass Teapot and The Sea also has William Monahan’s thriller Mojave starring Garret Hedlund, Oscar Isaac & Mark Wahlberg, as well as the comedy Bill coming up.
