Dave Stewart and Michael Bradford are writing original songs and music for the upcoming horror musical Zombie Broadway. The film based on Stewart’s own graphic novel of the same title is set in a Zombie-ridden, apocalyptic New York where the fate of the city lies in the hands of the only surviving musical theatre troop putting on the show of their lives. The movie is being described as Rocky Horror Picture Show meets Bullets Over Broadway. Cole Haddon (NBC’s Dracula) is writing the screenplay and Pam Williams & David Jacobson (Lee Daniels’ The Butler) are producing the project alongside Stewart. The former Eurythmics member has previously scored a number of film, including Robert Altman’s Cookie’s Fortune, Paul Verhoeven’s Showgirls and Ted Demme’s Beautiful Girls. He also wrote original songs for the Jude Law-starring Alfie with Mick Jagger, for which he received a Golden Globe Award. Bradford’s music has previously been featured in such titles as The Fan, Mission: Impossible 2 and Cinderella II: Dreams Come True. Zombie Broadway is expected to start production in 2015.
