Dickon Hinchliffe has been tapped to score the upcoming thriller The Reach. The film is directed by Jean-Baptiste Leonetti and stars Michael Douglas, Jeremy Irvine, Hannah Mangan, Lawrence and Ronny Cox. The movie is based on the 1972 novel Deathwatch by Robb White and follows a businessman and big game hunter in pursuit of his ultimate prize who hires a college student to lead him into the American desert. Stephen Susco (The Grudge, Texas Chainsaw 3D) has written the screenplay and Douglas is also producing the project with Robert Mitas. Hinchliffe’s recent scoring credits include the critically acclaimed drama Locke starring Tom Hardy and last year’s Out of the Furnace starring Christian Bale & Casey Affleck. The founding member of Tindersticks has also composed the music for such features as Winter’s Bone, Last Chance Harvey, Project Nim and Shadow Dancer. The Reach is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
