Variety is reporting that British singer/songwriter Patrick Wolf is attached to score a currently untitled feature about the early life of Noel Coward. The film is directed by Joe Stephenson and stars Chris Colfer as the English playwright, composer, director, actor and singer who was knighted in 1969. Ian McKellen, Vanessa Redgrave and Jonathan Pryce are currently in talks to co-star in the movie. Martin Sherman (Mrs Henderson Presents, Bent) has written the screenplay. Stephenson is also producing the B Good Picture Company production with Colin Vaines (Coriolanus, Julia Valentine, Jane Wright, Enfys Dickinson and Dan Pickering. The project marks Wolf’s first scoring assignment. The songwriter who is known combining for electronic sampling with classical instruments has previously contributed music for John Maybury’s The Edge of Love and Samantha Morton’s The Unloved. The Noel Coward biopic is scheduled to start shooting this summer.
