Gregory Tripi is scoring the upcoming indie mystery thriller Dark Places. The film is written and directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner (Sarah’s Key, Walled In) and stars Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicholas Hoult, Christina Hendricks, Corey Stoll, Tye Sheridan. Drea DeMatteo, Andrea Roth and Sterling Jerins. The movie is based on a novel by Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl) and follows a woman who survived the massacre of her family as a young girl and testified against her brother. 25 years later, she is confronted by a secret society obsessed with solving notorious crimes. Stephane Marsil (Adventures of Arsene Lupin), Beth Kono & AJ Dix (The Butterfly Effect, Sleepwalking), Cathy Schulman (Crash, The Illusionist) Matthew Rhodes (Southland Tales, Passengers) and Matt Jackson (End of Watch, Snitch) are producing the project. Tripi has previously composed additional music for numerous films scored by Cliff Martinez, including Drive, Contagion and The Lincoln Lawyer. He also collaborated with composer Christopher Young on a number of films such as Priest, Ghost Rider and Drag Me to Hell. His solo scoring credits include the video game Twisted Metal. Dark Places is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year.
