Mychael Danna mentioned in an interview at the BMI Film & TV Awards this past Wednesday that he is currently co-scoring the upcoming FX original series Tyrant with his brother Jeff Danna. The show is created by Gideon Raff (Homeland, The Killing Floor) and stars Adam Rayner, Jennifer Finnigan, Ashraf Barhom, Noah Silver, Moran Atias, Anne Winters, Salim Daw, Justin Kirk, Fares Fares, Jordana Spiro, Mehdi Dehbi and Alice Krige. The drama follows an unassuming American family that is drawn into the workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation. Raff is also executive producing the project with Howard Gordon (24, Homeland), Craig Wright (Mr. Peabody & Sherman), Glenn Gordon Caron (Moonlighting, Medium), Michael Lehmann (Heathers, 40 Days and 40 Nights), Peter Noah (The West Wing) and Avi Nir (Homeland). David Yates (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) has directed the pilot episode and also serves as an executive producer. Tyrant is set to premiere on June 24, 2014 and will air every Tuesday night on FX. For updates on the series, visit the official show website.
