Edgar Wright has announced on Twitter that he will be scoring the director’s upcoming comic book film adaptation of Ant-Man. The film will star Paul Rudd in the title role of Scott Lang/Ant-Man, the superhero who can change size via an invented substance and can communicate with insects. Michael Douglas will be portraying scientist Hank Pym and Michael Pena has also been cast in an undisclosed role. Wright has also co-written the screenplay with Joe Cornish (Attack the Block). Kevin Feige (Iron Man, The Avengers, Thor, Captain America) is producing the Marvel Studios production. Price has previously scored Wright’s last feature The World’s End, as well as the Wright-produced horror comedy Attack the Block. Ant-Man is set to be released on July 17, 2015 by Walt Disney Pictures.
Price who is up for an Academy Award for his music for Gravity also has David Ayer’s untitled World War II thriller starring Brad Pitt, as well as Cuaron’s NBC series Believe coming up.
I knew, i knew it , i knew it
I couldn’t be happier with this news. Congrats Steven!
Awesome! It looks like finally there will be a VERY good Marvel movie 🙂
There have already been quite a few VERY good Marvel movies, thank you very much.
says Kevin Feige
ainitcool news is saying that Price is no longer the composer, and that he left the project with Edgar Wright. Is that correct?
Wouldn’t surprise me. Marvel treats it’s composers (and directors… and actors…) like sh*t. The movie will most likely be scored by Brian Tyler, who is basically Marvel’s loyal bitch by now. And by “scored by Tyler” I mean “scored by number of dudes borrowed from Hans Zimmer’s studio whose work will Tyler eventually take credit for”.
