Michael Giacchino revealed on Twitter today the he is currently recording the music for a new Ratatouille theme park attraction for Disneyland Paris based on the Oscar-winning movie from Pixar. The composer has previously scored the 2007 animated feature, for which he received his first Academy Award nomination. The attractions is reportedly a trackless ride vehicles with 3-D projections and special effects and riders riders will encounter audio-animatronic figures, special effects and 3-D imagery projected on 30-foot-wide domed screens. Giacchino’s music is being recorded at Capitol Records Studios in Los Angeles. The Ratatouille ride will be opening this summer in the Toon Studio area at Disneyland Paris.
Giacchino’s other upcoming projects include the Wachowski siblings’ Jupiter Ascending, Matt Reeves’ Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland. He already completed work on Shawn Levy’s This Is Where I Leave You starring Tina Fey, which is set to be released on September 12, 2014 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
