Premiering on Thursday, October 17, on ABC is the Halloween special Toy Story of Terror directed by Angus MacLane and featuring the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Wallace Shawn, Timothy Dalton, Kristen Schaal and Carl Weathers. Michael Giacchino (Up, Ratatouille, The Incredibles) has composed the music for the short. Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score on Tuesday, October 15. Also premiering on Thursday is the new drama Reign created by Laurie McCarthy and starring Adelaide Kane, Toby Regbo, Torrance Coombs, Megan Follows, Alan Van Sprang, Celina Sinden, Caitlin Stasey, Anna Popplewell and Jenessa Grant. The show about Mary Queen of Scots is scored by composer Trevor Morris (The Tudors, The Borgias, Olympus Has Fallen). Premiering on Wednesday, October 16, in the US is the BBC original movie Burton & Taylor starring Dominic West as Richard Burton and Helena Bonham Carter as Elizabeth Taylor. The biopic centers on the tumultuous relationship of the Hollywood power couple during their final performance together in Noel Coward’s Private Lives in 1983. John Lunn (Downton Abbey, The White Queen) has composed the film’s original score. The biopic premiered on BBC in the UK this summer and will air on October 16 on BBC America. Premiering on Saturday, October 19, on Starz is the mini-series Dancing on the Edge written and directed by Stephen Poliakoff and starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Wunmi Mosaku, Angel Coulby and John Goodman. The drama’s original score is composed by Adrian Johnston (Becoming Jane, Kinky Boots). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music was released earlier this year overseas on Decca Records. Lee Holdridge (The Mists of Avalon, Moonlighting) who has previously collaborated with the director multiple times has composed the film’s original music.
