Lionsgate Records will release a soundtrack album for the action comedy sequel Red 2. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, The Avengers). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 16, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips from the score. La-La Land Records has announced a CD version to be released on July 30. Red 2 is directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) and stars Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung Hun Lee, Brian Cox and Neal McDonough. The film follows the team around retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses on a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. Why the hell didn’t they hire Christophe Beck? His score for the 1st movie was really cool. I hope (but highly doubt) Silvestri has kept the same style.
