Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the thriller Killing Them Softly. The album features the film’s songs by artists including Carl Stone, The Velvet Underground, James Wilsey, Nico, Kitty Lester and The Wreckery. Also included is one track by composer Marc Streitenfeld who is credited as providing piano pieces and musical ambiances. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 16, 2012 and physically on November 13. The CD is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out below. Killing Them Softly is directed by Andrew Dominik (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) and stars Brad Pitt, Richard Jenkins, Jamea Gandolfini, Ray Liotta, Scott McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, Vincent Curatola, Max Casella and Sam Shepard. The film based on the George V. Higgins novel follows a professional enforcer in New Orleans who investigates a heist that occurs during a high stakes, mob-protected, poker game.
