Carter Burwell is scoring the upcoming comedy thriller Seven Psychopaths. The movie is written and directed by Martin McDonagh and stars Colin Farrell as an alcoholic screenwriter who is struggling to write a serial-killer script and gets more real-life inspiration than he can handle when a dognapping scheme gone awry brings a galaxy of crazies to his doorstep. Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Christopher Walken, Abbie Cornish, Tom Waits, Olga Kurylenko and Gabourey Sidibe are co-starring in the film. Graham Broadbent and Pete Czernin (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, In Bruges) are producing the Blueprint Pictures production. Burwell has previously collaborated with McDonagh on the Golden Globe-nominated 2008 crime comedy In Bruges starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. Seven Psychopaths will be premiering at the Toronto Film Festival next month and will be released in the US on October 12, 2012 by CBS Films. Burwell’s other upcoming projects include The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. The composer’s score was recently recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. The film directed by Bill Condon and starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner marks Burwell’s third score for the franchise following the 2008 original film and last year’s Breaking Dawn – Part 1. The final installment in the Twilight series will be released on November 16, 2012. Visit the official movie website for more information about the film.
