Decca Music has released the soundtrack album A Symphony of British Music -Music from the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The album includes selections from the original music from the ceremony written by film/TV composer David Arnold (Casino Royale, Independence Day, Stargate) who acted as the music director of the event. Among the songs featured on the release are Blur’s Parklike, Russell Brand’s take on I Am The Walrus and Eric Idle’s performance of Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life. Also included are songs by Muse, Elbow, The Who, Spice Girls, Take That, Ed Sheeran, Jessie J and George Michael. The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. A physical version is scheduled to be released on August 20, 2012 in the UK.
