Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott are scoring the upcoming indie comedy drama Writers. The film is written and directed by Josh Boone and stars Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly, Lily Collins, Kristen Bell, Logan Lerman, Nat Wolff, Liana Liberato, Rusty Joiner and Patrick Schwarzenegger. The movie explores the complicated relationships between a successful novelist, his ex-wife and their collegiate daughter and teenage son. The dramedy also features a cameo appearance by author Stephen King. Judy Cairo (Crazy Heart, Hysteria) is producing the project for Informant Media. The film marks the second feature film scoring assignment for Mogis and Walcott who are best known as members of the indie rock band Bright Eyes. They have previously scored the 2008 drama Lovely, Still starring Martin Landau and Ellen Burstyn. Writers has been shot earlier this year in North Carolina and is currently in post-production.
