Sam Philipps has reunited with Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino to score the new ABC Family drama Bunheads. The show marks Phillips’ first TV scoring assignment since her work on all seven seasons of the critically acclaimed WB series. Bunheads stars Sutton Foster as a Las Vegas showgirl who impulsively marries a man, moves to his sleepy coastal town, and takes an uneasy role at her new mother-in-law’s dance school. Kaitlyn Jenkins, Julia Goldani Telles, Bailey Buntain and Emma Dumont are co-starring and Kelly Bishop (Gilmore Girls) is guest starring. Sherman-Palladino is executive producing the drama and has also directed the pilot episode.
Bunheads is set to premiere tomorrow night, June 11, and will be airing every Monday night on ABC Family. To learn more about the show, visit the official series website.
I assume this calls for a bit more effort on Sam Phillips’s part than aimless guitar-strumming and going “La la la…” all the time. 🙂
