Howe Records will be releasing the soundtrack album for David Cronenberg’s upcoming drama Cosmopolis. The album features the film’s original score by Academy Award-winning composer Howard Shore performed by the indie rock band Metric. The composer has also co-written three original songs with the Canadian band. Also featured on the soundtrack is the song Mecca by Somali singer/rapper K’NAAN. The soundtrack will be released in France on May 15, 2012 and in the US on July 10. Visit Amazon to order the album and check out audio clips from all tracks on the album here. Cosmopolis is based on the novel by Don DeLillo and stars Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche and Paul Giamatti. The film about a multimillionaire who risks his entire fortune to bet against the yen on a cataclysmic day will be premiering at the Cannes Film Festival later this month and is also set to be released throughout Europe over the next few months. No domestic distribution deal has been set yet.
